Dave Girsch hitting DEW Tour...
Big congrats goes out to team rider Dave Girsch, who is currently in the states and just competed in his first DEW tour.
Dave made it thru the first round but a crash cost him from going into prelims and finals, but on the bright side Dave has been invited to the next stop in Portland, Dave will also be hitting up the DK king of Dirt held at the headquarters of DK itself.
Check out Dave below with a massive 3 whip.

Hey, so arrived in Ipswich Friday night, so I could get some extra practice in before Saturday when the 2010 South East Queensland titles were to begin. Got all my gear on and went for a ride, track felt pretty good but was chewing up and getting soft in a few places around the track. Anyway did some laps the track wasn’t to technical.
Saturday, race day, biggest meeting in our zone!
Today we had practice in the morning then an opening ceremony followed by 4 motos.
I was riding Pro Open and we had 24 riders, so some good competition. Placed pretty good in my motos, getting all 3rds and one 5th. But I placed well enough to qualify.
Sunday, So today we started earlier and had 2 motos, semis and finals
After racing yesterday, the track was starting to get really soft in places like the first corner. We had a couple of warm up laps then it was straight into racing, I got two 3rds in my motos. Now we had semis, pretty packed 8 riders all chasing for those top 4 spots to continue through to the finals! Gate slapped down didn’t get the best gate but wasn’t the worst, heading down the first straight moving to the inside to make a move in the corner, I manualed the triple into the corner and it all looked good until Matt Hill washed out and I had no were to go but into him. By the time I had pulled my bike around to get going again it was too late 5 riders were almost into the next corner. No one was hurt but it was over for me this weekend. Went for a cool down ride and then came back to watch everyone race in the finals. The results for pro open ended up with Michael ‘Tiger’ Robinson taking out the top spot with Stevie Janssen in for the two. All in all Ipswich put on a good weekend of racing which was enjoyed by all.

Team DK headed to the Australian Titles last week and dominated the event taking home 4 number 1 plates and also being voted TEAM of the year.
THURSDAY 6th - It all started on Thursday when in the PROBIXS rounds DK rider Cherie Simpson took out the overall win in ELITE WOMAN with a 1st place on the day giving her the overall for the series, not to be out done Matt Dunsworth also claimed the overall title in Junior Elite Men with a 2nd place on the day also giving him the overall series win.
FRIDAY 7th - The youngest member of the squad Mitch Hoad had a great day on Friday claiming the number 2 plate in 11 boys, Mitch had a fantastic day and after fighting of 60+ other riders he was happy with the 2 plate.
SATURDAY 8th - With most of the squad racing on Saturday there was bound to be some great results and Team DK didn't disappoint taking out some major titles,
Blake Moore in the 15 boys has been training so hard towards these Nationals, and the guy they call mighty mouse smashed thru his moto's and into the semi's, but a crash down the first straight ended any chances of that #1 plate, I'm sure Blake will come back stronger and faster next year I would even put money on it.
Ryan Van Vugt claimed his consecutive #1 plate with a massive win to stamp his claim on the 16 boys class, once again Ryan proved his class winning every race he was in, all i can say the Junior Elite Boys better watch out next year when Ryan moves up a class.
Lacey Oliver pushed her way up to claim the number 3 spot in Junior Elite Woman, riding thru a bad wrist Lacey showed some guts to get that far,
Alex Ulyate in his first Nationals in Junior Elite Men couldn't of ended any better making the main and claiming the number 5 spot, watch out for this guy next nationals.
Matt Dunsworth has been riding well all year and for him not to walk away with the #1 plate would be a disappointment for the local Victorian, but true to his form Matt rode well all day and stood up on the poduim at the end of the day in that number 1 spot, with Matt now moving up in to Elite Men it is going to be tough but if anyone can do it i'm sure he will.
Cherie Simpson finally did it by claiming her 1st National Title in Elite Woman after putting in a stella performance in the final by over taking her rival into the last corner and crossing the finish line with her head held high, Cherie has been chasing that title for a few years so was great to see her on top of the podium with her novalty cheque.
Brock Murray in Elite Men was chasing that #1 title but a few mishaps in his quarter killed any possiblity of that, but if anyone can bounce back from that and chase it next year is Brock.
To top of the weekend Team DK / Loose Kid Industries / Rockstar Energy Drinks was also voted Team of the year at the BMX awards, so was a great way to finish of an amazing week for DK bicycles and it's team riders

The team here at DK would like to wish the DK Bicycles/Loosekid Industries/Rockstar Bmx Team the best of luck at the upcoming Australian BMX titles in Shepparton, Victoria which is being held all of next week. All the riders have been training hard leading up to this event and with it being held on a fairly new track should make some interesting racing....check here next week to see updates thru out the week.

DK riders dominated the recent Queensland state titles over the weekend at Ashmore on the Gold Coast, with only 3 of our riders being able to make it the team came away with 2 x Q1, 1 x Q2 and a Q4.
Our newest member to the team Cherie Simpson came away with the win in Elite Woman, and not to be out done Lacey Oliver picked up a 2nd in Junior Elite Woman, Alex Ulyate had a great day aswell coming away with a Q4 in his first ride in Junior Elite men 20" and a win in Elite Men Cruiser which was a great effort considering he is only 17.
The team also had great media coverage over the weekend with TV interveiws and newspaper article, so massive plugs for DK Bicycles so thanks guys.
